This will split the group :)

OK this is going to be very much a marmite process ....I don't normally got for boarders and effects but I processed this shot and just wondered how it look aging it a tad and hit a preset and thought ...."hello" - so I've stuck with it, so how many like marmite LOL

Anyone for marmite :) by Ian Theobald, on Flickr

I like Marmite but banned from having it since SWMBO discovered it's bad for my gout. Not bothered about the border and don't like the effect on the sky but definitely do like the remainder of the photo and the 'old look' suits it well.

Is that anti-aircraft fire in the sky? Or has someone spilled Marmite on the picture?

It works on this one Ian due to the 1960ish type processing ,but I would be wary on other types of pics

agree Jeff, I did process it in colour and still not sure which I prefer, but I like to be different :)

Border fine, processing fine. Just the sky that looks a bit strange to be honest.

Processing suits the scene but as said the sky looks a bit odd

Have to agree with others Ian - nothing wrong with the processing apart from the clouds.

Nothing wrong with processing Ian, new trend "marmite sky". You saw it here first world, patented by Tigger

I think the clouds look like a particularly nasty skin disease... Not a fan of borders, but given some of the stuff I have been doing, I will henceforth now try and get over that little foible. The rest of it is great. Seems to me it is less like marmite and more like the curate's egg: good in parts...

                            Since you asked for opinions:

I like the border - think it actually adds to this particular image
The sky is horrendous - sorry, just my reaction
The verticals on the right nag at me but don't know if they could be corrected without distorting anything else

Think this means I can take Marmite but only thinly spread :-)

The border, nope, uh huh. The picture and scene I like and yes the sky is um.......
