    Little Stream

I wanted to keep the shadows and trees quite dark so didn't lift the shadows, also didn't want to go too milky with the water

A good composition of a pretty little stream and I appreciate that you resisted a long exposure I do understand that you wanted to keep it dark but there is a bridge hiding away in there and I wonder whether a bit of localised lifting of the gloom could have revealed it better?

    Cheers,

cheers John, I did think about pulling the bridge up but its so small its really lost in the background and rather than trying to pull it up and people say "shame its so small" I thought I would make fade in the background ...maybe I got it wrong

I find the bright cloud draws my eye up to it and wonder if including the sky, adds anything to the shot?

Not sure...its fine but not impacting...it imparts a calmness, but i agree the cloud is too bright and steals the eye away from the water.
Might look better as a square crop from the bottom with no sky?

I've replaced the image and pulled the bridge up a little as well as I agree with John now ...cheers guys

I think it's better without the sky but then again. I would.

I think the reason the bridge is brought up is the leading line (the flowing creek) "leads" the eye that direction making it a central part of the image. I know it does for me. It is a pretty scene. Looks serene!

That's made a good image better and illuminating bridge letting the eye be led to it is a master stroke

                    Cheers,

Didn't see the original so can't compare, but as it stands that is a lovely image, beautifully processed. Looks almost magical.
