Hmmm, not sure this is one of your most successful, Ian. I do get the feeling of 'sleepy village', there is a definite Sleeping Beauty type vibe of dormancy, but there's not quite enough tonal difference for me across the scene. Perhaps a pool of light on the shrub, or a lighter path down the steps, and/or as John says make more of the street lamp? I don't know, but it just needs a bit more of something.
