Sorry Ian I was one of those who looked and didn't comment. But that was down to my viewing it on my phone, having said that after looking on my tablet I'm struggling to appreciate the composition. My eye gets taken along the flow of water but everything above the water just doesn't work for me.

Re: Someone Leave The Tap On

First time I've been on here for a bit due to work. (Shakes head in dismay)

I think it's interesting but as a picture there's a lot going on in it which you can't really do anything about. The way the water shoots out and the inclines made me think it's not vertical but the trees tell it is.

cheers guys, think this maybe a class case of processing a shot from a good memory and maybe it not being that good a photo ... but anyways thanks for feedback

It's odd, Ian, it really should work; it is clearly an impressive structure, the trees give its scale, there's a good lead in using the river and you've processed it really well with plenty of good tonal range. So all the elements are there but for some reason it just doesn't grab me. Can't really explain why.

I think I'd be inclined to crop down the top by about a third. This would then pull the focus to the water spewing out which is really lost against the green background, in my opinion anyway

I feel the crop on the right hand side and the bottom leave me wanting to see a bit more.
