    The Beautiful and Majestic Rockies

    Just like my love for South Africa, I have a facination and love for the Rockies in Canada. I have made more than one visit to the Alberta region of Canada,often called as the Bible belt, just to visit and enjoy the Rockies. I have gone through some of my more recent visits and post herewith a somewhat "story" showing the magnificient Rockies. There are more pictures on my flickr site. Rockies are best seen from Banff,Jasper and British Colombia

            Thanks jeff. I know Vancourver as well- very beautiful place and I think Bouchard Gardens is there.

              Love the Canadian Rockies but only visit during winter for skiing so nice to see them during the summer.

              These images really make me want to visit during the summer even though I understand it's 10 times busier than during the winter.

                  Thanks Ant & Paul. The month to avoid is July when there is the world famous Calgary Stampede. I went there once in July and the place was indeed heaving but I now I visit between Aug-Oct (I have my family there as well) but missed seeing the black bears! Paul , you are still a young man and there is lots of time but I know that postponing visits is not a good thing. You will enjoy the wildlife there as well- bears,wolves,Cougars to mention a few and take your long lens to keep out of harms way. I have only seen the bears on one of my visits but I did not have the proper lens- bit too far away.
