    Hayes Barton

Decided the legs needed some exercise, so took myself off on another longish walk this morning, which took me past Hayes Barton.
Now, if I had been living where I'm too today in 1552 Sir Walter Raleigh would be my next door neighbour. He was born in Hayes Barton and spent his childhood there.
Hayes Barton is in the parish of East Budleigh and just off the East Devon Pebblebed Heaths. As the crow flies its just over a mile from my place.
The house itself was built in 1484, (Note the 'E' shape) with the 'wings' and porch added later as a compliment to Queen Elizabeth who was born 50 years later in 1533.
Down in the village there is a Statue to the lad himself -- every time I drive by it, I wonder how much it would worth melted down - most likely be able to get a 1DX Mklll & 600 f4

I agree, shame exif info was withheld though. It may have helped some newcomers.

Nice images Trev. Do not understand why EXIF data is so important to newcomers. Great fun making mistakes and learning from them, certainly not costly today like in the film/.trannie days. Oh well that's life today, sadly !!
