I can't decide so need a pier review...

Going over some old images I found this one of Paignton Pier that I took it in 2017 while on the way home from Mifsud and used 16-35 f4 I'd just bought.
My problem is with the crop as I can't decide which is stronger so what do you think?

    Or this slight crop:

For me it’s the second one John, there’s a lot of dead area in the bottom RH corner of the first.

Number 2 for me, it has more impact.

No1 for me , I like the longer view of the pier and coastline underneath, Crop up to the edge of the red reflection and down to just above the tallest flag to make a letter box image

Crop for me. The position of the reflection of the right hand red light is much stronger compositionally and gives a much more definite dynamic to the line of the pier. The dull area on the RHS really doesn't work.

                  Thanks folks.

Alan: just tried that top and bottom crop along with a smidge from the left and it made an interesting composition:

Sid: It was the dull area on the right that I found troubling yet part of me wanted to leave it uncropped to retain the lights of the distant harbour. If only that patch of sand was wet

Both look nice but the second photo is the best.
