    Help with Macro lens

I currently use a Canon 5D mark 1 and I wish to buy a suitable macro lens, the lens that I am particularly interested in is the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM, does anybody have practical experience with this lens? if so I would greatl appreciate your views.

I thank you in advance for your help in this matter.

    Yours.

    Ha Eretz A.K.A. Stuart.

    Re: Help with Macro lens

    Hi Stuart

All the macro lenses from Canon, Sigma, Tamron and Tokina will give you superb results.
The Sigma 150mm f2.8 EX DG OS is a similar price to the Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS lens.
I have used the Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS lens with great results on the 7D crop camera, the Sigma should give you similar results on a FF camera.
The Sigma does show slight vignetting when wide open but stopping down to f/4 resolves this. CAs are very well controlled.
Resolution is very good to excellent. A great macro lens that even takes the x1.4 and x2.0 extenders.
On a FF camera the Sigma 150mm is fractionally better than the Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS lens.

    Go for it.

Please note: I do not have or use Photoshop
