    My new baby, feeding.

My new dead leaf mantis, currently around 10mm long, and ridiculously difficult to find when she is still.
She was sitting on the lid today, so grabbed the camera while she was feeding.

These images are just great, I am only just getting into Macro but love the idea. Have 7D and 100mm macro lens. Do tell me how you get that degree of magnification please.

                            Hi Barry,

Ensure you have the lens set to 1:1 and frame the shot, so you don't need to post crop. Not always possible, but that way you will get the highest magnification with a standard set up. If you want more magnification, you could try an 1.4x extender. Some people use a raynox magnifier on their macro lenses or extension tubes, which allow you to move the lens closer.
