    Ian, yeah, chicken fat is the name given to the ruffled areas on certain types of daylilies. I didn't know that either, but Bob explained it to me and he's the expert.

    Singular Beauty

    Singular Beauty is from my The Beauty Within collection and was composed at the Yonce Farm in Ridge Spring, SC. It is not often that you are able to isolate a single stamen away from the others and the stigma. Additionally, the chicken fat coming into the frame from the lower right-hand side had a rather unique shape that added visual interest.
