Impaled is from my Flora collection and was composed at the Aiken County Historical Museum in Aiken, SC. I am always on the lookout for subjects that are interesting or unique. There are trees near the museum entrance that grow a ton of little red berries. Below the trees are plants with spiked leaves. Apparently, the berries fall off the tree at some point during the winter, and one happened to fall directly on to the tip of a leaf below it.
