    Re: A WEEKEND|Canon 7D Video Test

I am not clever enough to do video, I can barely snap one shot at a time. So when others can do it and do it well, I am impressed.

I liked the simplicity of the concept, the little "wow" features dotted throughout and the music to tie it all together.

Very nicely done. I can barely get a photograph right.

Steven Spielberg, eat your heart out. Great work , the slow motion really makes it, well done.

What a great piece of work frm672

I've never tried anyhting like this before, but will be able to when I get my new 60D in a few weeks time as it also has video capability. Out of interest how long did it take you to arrange all of the clips into the whole video? And also, was this done using the cameras own software or did you use another video editing package?

Whatever you used it's a lovely piece of work.

I have no interest in using the video feature on my camera but I applaud you for this, I am VERY impressed - moments like this you will never get again

I love the slow motion effects it seems to draw you eye to the subject. I must give video a go. What software did you use for these effects?

Lovely! Works well with the music and the slow motion parts. Well done you.

                        Re: A WEEKEND|Canon 7D Video Test

Thank you All. This was my first test with my 7D. It took very few hours to shoot, in 2 different days, and about a week to put all together. I produced about one hundred of short clips and then made a selection. Notice that clips are very heavy, and battery goes down much faster than taking photos..:-(
                        About gear:
                        Canon EF 50 f/1.4
                        Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 L
                        Apple iMac
                        Apple Final Cut
                        Adobe After Effects
Adobe AE Plugin Twixtor (for slow motion)
Video shot at 720p 60fps (recommended for slow motion)

You can cheaply solve that problem with decent compatible batteries (2 for £20), and kingston 16Gb CF cards (£21) cards from 7dayshop.com

Fabulous I have a 7d and although I really don't use the video I have tried it (would love to record some wildlife sequences) and it was rubbish to put it politely, it is a different set of skills, you have certaily earned my respect with this first effort.
