    Wolverines

Let me share some of my photos of wolverines. Wolverines are one of my favorite animals to take photos of. They often have a playful and curious behavior but they are also shy and careful. And they are cute! So cute you almost forget that they are fierce predators with the ability to kill prey many times larger than itself. These photos are taken in Finland during my trips in 2018 and 2019.

The next two photos are taken with remote controlled camera. The first one gives a good look at the environment where the Wolverine is living. And yes - it is exactly the same location where I photographed a bear in this thread http://www.eos-magazine-forum.com/fo...564-brown-bear. The second one is a mess though - the wolverine is too close to camera and out of focus because of that. But it is still a fun photo because it shows how curious these animals are. My plan was to get the wolverine to climb the tree behind it . The wolverine is a good climber, so I had attached some treats for it on the tree trunk and was ready to catch it with the remote control in hand. But as soon as it arrived it immediately noticed the camera and decided to investigate it. That's when I took this photo. But - after a few seconds it decided that the camera was of no interest and continued on its way - never noticing my treats in the tree.

Just an amazing set of pictures, don't worry about the last one being OOF you got a better shot than anyone who may criticise it. I've seen them but never was I able to photograph one. No 3 is the pick of the bunch for me.

Very nice, Jock. And a funny pose of the wolverine. Did you notice what was going on there - or is it just stretching and yawning after a nap?

Those are all great pictures Arquebus, thank you for sharing them with us; you are very fortunate to be in a position to be able to take them. I like your first one best, its a good pose well framed by the undergrowth. Your last pic is not a mess, its a good pic that’s slightly out of focus for good reason!

The photograph was taken in the Highland Wildlife Park near Aviemore. The Wolverine had just climbed up to what I guess could loosely be described as a nest. I guessed what his next step would be, but it took ages for him to settle down - it was like watching a dog getting into a basket! I believe this was a pre-nap stretch.

Thank you everyone for the comments!
