    Hybrid Wildcat

Found where the wildcat kitten is hiding in our garden during the daytime, what a face.

WOW - What a face - What a capture. Excellent shot David, by the look of those eyes, I don't think it aims to be very friendly.

Can you get anything for a DNA test, any fur or scats, sure someone would like to know about your garden visitor, great capture.

Oxford Uni are doing a study and we have tried catnip for them to bite into, that didn’t work so now we are waiting for a hair trap to be delivered.

Since it's part wild cat I guess 'Awww cute' doesn't really apply... Still nonetheless.... Awww, cute...

Just love the expression on the cat’s face. If looks could talk!

Did you see they are breeding them for release in England, would be nice to get the European Wildcat back in all of it's range.

Tiger, would be good to get some pure breeds up here as to many are cross breeding with domestic cats.

I used to support 'Scottish Wildcat Action' that ran from 2015 to 2020. Now 'Saving Wildcats' which I also support. However I think you are going to get in-breeding with the domestic moggy wherever they are released. Personally, I would like to see all the action in getting them firmly established in the Scottish Highlands first, then look at other suitable area's of the UK.

Domestic cat free islands seem to be the logical choice to me, get plenty of different genetic pools, then occasionally mix them up to keep the pool strong, domestic cats should be neutered/spayed before being sold.
