    Red Deer Stag

Had some fun stalking this stag around Richmond Park when we had some decent light for a change.

EOS 1DX with 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II lens.

    Thanks for looking.

Lovely set Brian. Do you know what the situation is at Bushy, assuming the rut will have at Bushy also. I'm in the Forest next week so hoping to grab a day at Bushy

Thanks Trev. Haven't been to Bushy Park for some time but assume it will be similar to Richmond Park, where the rut appears to be just starting. If I hear anything I'll let you know. I have a friend who goes cycling in Bushy Park so I'll ask him to let me know.

Thanks for that Brian, not a great fan of the Royal Parks for deer photography, too much zoo like. Much sooner be out in the sticks stalking them, but in view of the fact I will be in the New Forest, it’s only a quick nip up the road.

Lovely images, Brian, with great backgrounds. I do tend to do Bushy Park as it is so convenient being just down the road from me (in fact I drive past it on the way to work) but a reminder that Ricmond gives so much more chance of looking more natural. Not sure what the state of the rut is in Bushy, but the annual 'deer cull' signs are up, so be careful when crawling around in camo gear...
