Egret Eating Fish

Another trip to Stanpit Marsh at lunchtime and my favourite Egret was performing for me. I tracked it for about 30 shots whilst it hunted this little lagoon and finally got the shot I wanted. As it lifted its head and tossed the fish over to get it correctly oriented to swallow I pressed the shutter button - and what do you know - I caught the moment!
(the second image is a monster crop so quality has obviously sufffered but it shows the fish in mid-air inside the beak)

So long as you use a bit of field-craft they can be approached and watched for some time before they get fed up and move on. When we left this one was still fishing in the same place
