wetland birds

Just a few photos of wetland birds at my local lake not my usuall suject but trying out different things,Used 7D,with sigma 100-300f4 EX DG.iso 400.Any comments welcome !

A good first effort. Birds in flight aren't the easiest subjects to tackle.

maybe it's 7Ds focus tracking that helps, Never really taken many photo's of wild birds but must admit i enjoyed the challenge and will have to try and do some more.I'll look at others on this site to see where i can improve on my technique.

You have a great start with the 7D.

The next best tip is to observe and learn about different bird habits and then when they are flying, or coming in to land, you know enough to anticipate what is going to happen next. Always be aware of the wind direction - especially helpful for take off and landing shots.
