Mr & Mrs Kestrel at HCT

The kestrels were very active again today at HCT but I failed miserably to get any flight shots - this morning it was quite overcast and hazy and for some reason I had trouble getting the auto focus to lock on.
Got a few static shots though perched on the tree. I've not got quite as much reach as Glenn so quite heavy crops and not as good as he produced over the weekend but here are seperate shots of Mr and Mrs





And following Glenn's comment on his last post....

I do have shots of Mrs Kestrel so I could photoshop her in on the left to fill the space...

All in all quite a successful day even if I did not get the kestrel flight shots I hoped for. Still there is always next week

I find getting flying kestrel shots very difficult. By the time you're realised their flying and reacted to it, they're on the way back to the nesting box.

Quite right Glenn. Each time they perched on the tree i focussed, waited, arms ache so put lens down, focussed, waited, rested...and evey time thats when they decided to fly lol
