      Both nice images Mike. In the first you can clearly see the eye, not quite so obvious in the second and maybe brightening by a stop or so may improve it (image looks a bit darker than first).

          Thanks for the tip, yes the eye is not so obvious I think the light level had changed and the head angle not looking in the same light direction. I have tried to up it a bit in my original lightroom photo marginally better

                    Both images are very nice. It's a shame about the reed going through its head in the first and a lack of a catch light in both shots. I may have used the pop-up flash to put a catch light in the eye.
