    Diving Kingfisher.

    One from today with Stan.

After the perched portrait shots and caught a fish shots, we had enough in the bag for a good morning out, so we tried the really difficult stuff. There is no warning when a Kingfisher dives; no ruffling of feathers, no pre-flight poo, they just go.

Hmmm, looks a lot sharper on Flickr.

that looks good Colin and you have just a little blur in the wings The two shots I got were just before and just after but my shutter speed was half yours at 1/6000 so my wings are more blurred

Very nice capture and nice to see something a bit different to just being perched on a stick.

Shouldn't they be less blurred then Stan?

No as Colins shutter speed was 1/3200, twice as fast

I thinks its a mistake in your post Stan as you quote your speed was 1/6000 hence Johns question , I assume you meant 1/1600 ie half of Colins speed .

A fantastic shot Colin which would look great on the cover of a magazine.
