    Goldfinch pair, Mr and Mrs

    Another couple from Calke Abbey, same place different day I think. I like the greenery on two because it shows Spring is upon us.

    Two great shots Tony, however the first one is a female Chaffinch. Just love the Goldfinch shot with the greenery - my type of shot with a bit of the environment included.

            like with robins there is very little difference between male and female goldfinches and as others have said the first shot is a female chaffinch.

            Perhaps an idea to invest in the Collins Bird Guide for identification
