    Woodpecker in Flight

Bit of a crop on this one. Wrong lens and it caught me by surprise, so a bit of grab it and hope for the best.

    1. Well caught Colin, like it. Different from the normal GSW shots of one clinging to a tree, I've been trying for ages to get one in flight, have spent hours hanging out the window focusing on the dead tree that it frequents.

Great capture Collin. Not bad for a ‘grab shot’. I have been trying to get in flight shots of small garden birds since Christmas with my garden set up and have nothing approaching this!!!!! Any tips

Holten Lee is the one place you can guarantee seeing the woodpeckers but I have never been quick enough to get one of them in flight
