    Kingfisher female

Very poor light meant a high iso, but I think it's not too bad

That works well, a pretty young lady in her environment.

Looks better on Flickr and I also liked the take-off shot, just a pity she was looking the wrong way ........... little minx!

Thanks Colin, it was a howling wind from left to right and she was keeping low in the reeds to get out of it.

Thanks Trev, this was taken at Montrose Basin at the old salt pans, getting badly over grown as the Scottish Wildlife Trust don't understand what their responsibilities are regarding landscape management, this used to be a wonderful spot a few years back, hardly anyone visits this hide these days.

Lucky you. All my Kingfisher shots seem to be the bird sitting on a stick with a just a plain bland BG, nothing of interest in the shot - I call them 'Field Guide Images'

I have a few images from this hide, it is getting too over grown now though, the old salt pans where the birds fish for shrimps and stickle backs has little open water left now.
