    Great Crested Grebe II

    This is from the same location but a different bird, whose colouring was very much lighter and shot in different light further round the lake

    Slight preference for yesterday's, but marginal. It may be that lighter colouring on this bird.

            I think that's either your adult or winter plumage.

              a winter adult I think, although perhaps strange that on the same lake were a couple at least, in the much more colourfull summer outfit

                  Yes, their colouration seems to have got somewhat out of kilter with the seasons doesn't it.
