      Have you tried putting a few twigs/branches up near to your feeders.. Most bird like something to land on to make sure the coast is clear before going on to the feeders - makes for a more natural shot, plus you have no vegetation in the way, more than likely other garden birds will use it as well as the Great Spotted Woodpecker's.
