    Little Owl update

    Hi All,

I have been keeping an eye on the Little Owl location but ensuring don't spend much time there, don't want to bother them.

Here is the Juve again inside

It has now taken to popping outside

Then taking a lie down, hope that doesn't mean it's not well?? It was watching the two flies

Here is an adult, (I think) at a different location, probably 2 miles away

This morning there was no sign of the baby at the nest site, am hoping it didn't succumb to the heat yesterday

Paul, don't know if you been back to the nest site but it might be a good idea to take a look inside. If that owl is in a state of dehydration then it needs help urgently this weather. Its something you can do yourself or take it to a vet. What you need is a thin catheter tube, small syringe and some dehydration fluid - Dextrose/Saline available from Vets. If you want more information come back to me. Its quite easy I've done hundreds over the years mainly oiled seabirds - Guillemot's when running the Wildlife Rescue Centre.
