    Great Egret



    Another one from 2008. I'm quite enjoying going back over old images, it's amazing how you forget taking them. This shot was taken at the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, Florida. There is a one acre area dedicated to American alligators with a boardwalk. The birds realised that the alligators would protect them from predators, mainly racoons, and it soon became a thriving rookery.

    EOS 1D III with 500mm f/4L IS lens and 1.4 converter, tripod mounted.
