    Kestrel 2021 07/04

After al the snow it was good to get out and see how the birds were doing.

Female sat at front of nest

Then she became quite agitated which is usually a sign the male is returning with food
    2021-22 by tblake2007, on Flickr

But she suddenly left the nest and perched in a nearby tree calling loudly. The reason was a second male was in the area and the resident and interloper had a bit of a mid air kerfuffle. Not too sure which one this is.

After the interloper had been chased off the pair mated again to reaffirm their bond

Did try and see if there were any eggs whilst the female was out but couldn't see anything.

          Thanks for comments.

I'd sat there for 90 minutes and not much happened was just about to leave when the second male turned up.

Another excellent set Ant. You know what they say, patience is a virtue.

Indeed, we have a local wildlife FB group where I live and people often ask how I get good images. First thing I list is patience, then knowing the subject, where it likes perch etc.
