    Bird on a stick...

    ...well a Black-headed gull actually and the stick is post on the harbour wall...

    There have been a few posts lately about old cameras with low pixel counts and even a few historic pictures taken with them. Well here's one that certainly comes from an old camera - my D30 - with a low pixel count - just 3.2Mp - but is quite definitely not historic; it was taken last Friday...

    Another good shot Nigel with the prehistoric D30 -!. Excellent feather detail, who can fault it?

          Old but good is the the D30 as long as you don't push it. TBH I was surprised at the level of detail in the feathers considering it isn't an L lens or even a proper tele-zoom but my 18-270 Tamron one-size-fits-all jobbie... The short shooting distance - 5 or 6 feet tops - probably helped a lot.
