Dartford Warblers seem to be having a bumper year on the local heathlands, this is one of a pair on their second brood. This success however can be easily knocked out by a harsh winter that will wipe out an entire population. Traditionally our only resident warbler they rely on heathland insects and invertebrate for their survival - something that is impossible to find when the heathland is covered in a thick blanket of snow.
