    You have some good colour in the eye but the rest of the image looks flat, assume the bird was behind wire.
    With some more processing it will look much better - warm it a little and then a curves layer to boost the contrast

              Hi Real Swoosh - I've not managed to get a good image of him, so I think you've done very well, and the adjustments are a great improvement.

              BHAWK86 - It is certainly worth a visit. They have loads of animals in natural looking enclosures. Have a look at my Flickr site, and the set from BWC here. I'm now a member, so if you want to go, post when on the 'Meet ups' thread and I'd be happy to go along as well.
