Only boring sparrows feeding

Having not really had many chances to use my new Sigma 120-300 2.8 OS lens since buying it, when i heard some sparrows feeding in my back garden I snapped a few pictures through the study window.

Taken with 7D, Sigma 120-300 2.8 OS +1.4x @ 420mm f/4, 1/800sec, ISO1000.







They were taken through a window so not perfect and I think f/5.6 may have shown a bit more detail, but the new lens is looking good so far i think.

I get a lot of pleasure watching the birds in my back garden and the vast majority of them are common sparrows etc. so it is nice to see the humble back garden bird given a showing, Nice pictures by the way

You got a really nice background but shooting through glass at a long focal length has not helped the image quality, a bit flat and not quite sharp

thanks for the comments, i should add that it was taken through a window at 45 degrees. I also think that my copy is front focusing a tiny bit which i have now corrected using micro adjustment and it seems better now. I'm still learning to use it as its much more of a handfull than my old 100-400.
