    Lonesome Greylag

This was taken at Haddo House, a NTS place in Aberdeenshire
There were well over 50 geese but for some reason this one was always chased from the pack and spent most of its time on its own.
I felt quite sorry for the wee thing.

Normally i would say its a bit small in the frame but with the autumnal colours of the background I think it is just right
Just wondering what size you uploaded as I have to scroll to see all the image. I usually only resize to 800 if the longest side is along the top, if it is more portrait I usually do it at 700

      Cheers Stan
The idea was indeed to show the Goose in its surroundings.

      The file size is 597 x 800.
I normally upload at this size but this year our Camera Club ditched the monthly slide (transparency slides) competition in favour of a projected image comp (digital) so lately I have been uploading to Flickr at a larger size.
I have noticed that some of my resized images on Forums seem to be a bit soft hence the return to 800px at the longest edge.
Thanks for the heads up on 700px for portrait format images - I'll try that the next time.
