    Lock down thread

Following on from Colin's idea (Frozen Sea, topic) of posting an image a day, during lock down.
My idea is to post one image a day from my garden or house plants.
Today I am starting with a macro tulip shot and will continue photographing them until they die off.
Please feel free to add your own images to this thread at your leisure.

Great idea, always plenty to see within our gardens, it is times like this that we notice them more than normal.

Well, there's an idea. Nice picture. Looking forward to some more.

In the meantime I'll take up your offer to add to the thread.

I looked out of my window and there was one solitary daffodil that was open, there are many more waiting to come out so this one could sacrifice itself for some photos.

I have no fancy lighting so a 60 watt tungsten lamp was what I used with 6d, 100 F2.8L macro, 1/4 sec, f20 1600 ISO and a cover of a book held behind for the background.

Two great shots! Is there a yellow and purple theme brewing here?

Whilst the lock down is on, I intended to try something new.
Today it is "focus stacking". I took 12 images and focus stacked them in PS.
As an aside my first tulip image(Day 1) has a 3 pronged stigma this one has a 4 pronged stigma

With todays image I was practising my PS skills in layers, masking and selection.
I selected the tulip and with layers I selected a solid colour layer and then brushed in the solid colour.

                        My attempt at B&W.
I hand held a macro ring light above the tulips.

That's the last of the bunch of tulips, most of the leaves fell off during the night.
