    Pittosporum fruit

I have been hacking back a Pittosporum which had got too big for its boots and noticed that it has these slightly odd-looking fruit bodies. They start as a globular green thing (as you can see on the LHS) and then ripen and open to reveal what look like small fruit, covered in a sticky substance. I thought better of testing what they taste like!

I wouldn't try eating them John, though I may have attempted to see if the seeds would germinate. You could set yourself up as a supplier if the did shoot

They are Toxic John, although that's what my old survival hand book tells me.
