    Fantastic detail. What's with the double reflection? Is he (or she) on glass?

      Hey Chris , yes he was on my car windscreen , as luck would have it , I was just on my way out with my Macro kit to search for Dragonflies , and noticed him as I was getting in the car .

          Not totally sure but think this is a sawfly. Great image too.

                Mmmm... I'm even more stumped now; I've scanned right through the 'British Bugs' gallery, and can't see anything obvious; suggest you send them the image and ask for ID???
                Cheers;

                    Very nice Mark. I somehow don't think its a Sawfly, but having said that I can't put a name to it.

                          It's a sawfly Rhogogaster viridis, do a search on that name and you'll find plenty of images. They are very common, usually on flowers.

                            So it is , thanks Rich , well done Antony for being right in the first place , my google on Sawfly brought nothing like it up , but Richards more accurate name has revealed it nicely .
