    Clouded Yellow Butterfly

Was rather pleased to get this one this morning, first one I've seen in the past five years.
Remembering back to 1983 when there was a massive influxes of them, come the end you never gave them a second look they were so common.

Nice image Trevor , never sure half the time if it`s these or Brimstones that I see flutter past , in either case I rarely see them land within reach . Well done .

More than likely a Brimstone which are a paler yellow than the Clouded Yellow which is a deeper yellow, although the female of the Brimstone is is very pale almost looking white in some lights. The clouded yellow is a migratory butterfly with only a handful reaching our shores most year. The last time there was a large influxes was in 1983.
