    Marbled White Butterfly

    My first Marbled White of the season, taken this morning in the meadow.

    My usual location for them has been heavily cut back and in my two recent visits I’ve only seen one small blue sp in the distance. Made up for it in last few days photographing heath fritillaries, which are new to me. Probably marbled whites are still my favourite to photograph though.

        Don't really take enough notice of butterflies and keep promising myself I will.

I always spend time watching, many butterflies have a flight pattern, all too often they will land on the same spot, flower etc. Move in slow, get a shot, you can always crop it. If all's well keep moving in slowly, making sure your shadow does not pass over it. --- you've now filled the frame with your butterfly

                    Or get up early and photograph them before they’re flying and still have dew in them.
