    Large Skipper Butterfly

Large Skipper Butterfly - Interesting little fact regarding the Large Skipper, like all British skippers its got a anal comb, but on the large skipper, its so highly developed that it can propel its pellets well away from itself.

I've seen the Large Skipper in the Lake District, but I think that is about the end of their northern extremity they start getting thin on the ground from there on,

Nice shots, we get the Chequered Skipper in Scotland as the only one of the genus and they are rare and localised in Inverness-shire.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
