    Evolution in progress!

Came across my first Buxus brown moth yesterday, nothing unusual about that you may think, however this one was on the side of my car.
Obviously it thought to catch a ride to a new location!

It was sighted very low down, hence it is not all in focus. I think the shot could have been sharper.

Well captured Rose. A attractive looking moth, but not one that is a welcome guest in this country. It's caterpillars - Box moth can do untold damage in the garden and to tree's.
It's certainly made itself known over the past decade or so since it arrived from East Asia.

Excellent spot and a good pic Rose. As Trev said, attractive but definitely unwelcome!

Thank you Trev, Ian and Bill53 for looking and your comments.
I had heard of box blight but until this summer had not seen the devastation it causes; a pretty moth but definitely not wanted. I’ve reported the sighting but from what I can see has already spread here on the south coast.
