    Golden Eagle Photoshoot

    Hi All,

Spent yesterday at the Rosliston Forestry Centre doing a Golden Eagle photoshoot. The day was superb. It started with a short lecture and into various parts of the forest for what I would call static Eagle shots. Then, the afternoon was taken up with the flying stuff. The guys who ran the day were excellent and they made every effort to ensure you the photos you wanted. It certainly was a privilege to be around these magnificent animals.

Those are some impressive images Neil. I think the last is my favorite as the eagle is focused.

Nice shots; I too like the first & last the best.

Looks like he blinked at the crucial moment in the third shot!

Looks like a superb day out.

Number 3 is great, but he blinked and you have a shot with the nictating membrane over the eye. I would be tempted to "borrow" the eye from #2 and use that. Number 5 is the action shot though - something was definitely going to die from that attack.

              Hi Guys,

Colin; I thought about doing the eye - but it is something unusal and not seen very often. The lid actually moves front to back, for those who don't know.

Trev; 1DX + 300mm f2.8 - I also used the x1.4TC on a few shots but soon took it off because I 'lost' the Eagle very easily when it turned.

#1 is the money shot here - all are great but that one just has the edge.

Looks like you had an awesome day
