    Just one more Eagle Shot

    Hi All,

This is the last picture - I don't want to 'out stay' my welcome on this subject. This is my favourite from last Saturday. I've decided to do myself a large print of it.

    Neil,

A lovely shot; but I find the things dangling from its legs very disconcerting. I wonder whether you can clone those things out. I am a fan nor an adict for free flight, free range birds and animals.

I respectfully suggest that #1 of your thread here is far superior to this shot if you're looking for a large print!

...I find the things dangling from its legs very disconcerting...
The dangly things are the jesses... I guess they could be cloned out, but it's all a part of what was happening. It's not a 'wild' bird.

      Great series anyhow...

        Hi Guys,

Here's the 'dangly' bits gone. I think I still prefer the original with the jesses because like EOS says it's not a 'wild' bird and I think the way they're moving shows how tight a large bid like a golden can turn.

EOS; when you see this picture really big (its now my screen saver on a 24" monitor) it just screams out large print!!!

You have caught the action well but I guess you were just too close again as he is very tight at both top and bottom and the wing is clipped at the top.

The jesses are rather large and i would clone them out - you are stilll leaving in the "bells" which still show it is obviously a captive bird

Lovely shot! I have to say I am not a great remover of sundry detail. The eagle had the jesses on, which is just as valid, or even more so... If you ever catch one on camera in the wild, then no jesses!!! Lovely action shot..

                  Great shot!
The crop on 3 looks better as does loosing the jesses as they are rather distracting in this instance; seems to 'free' the bird from the edge of the picture IMHO!

                      Well done Neil.

I much prefer #3 as the final version and crop. To me, the jesses were an unnecessary distraction, especially as they led out of the shot and I have no issues about cloning them out.

                        Neil,

I for one, love the shots without the "dangly" bits. It is a personal thing. Thanks for cloning the jesses's out. I might mention for rcara's benefit that there is a golden eagle flying free in Mid Wales- information courtesy of another member, who has actually photographed it. Of course this is an "escaped" bird without the dangly bits.

                        Cheers
