Great composition, colour, light, background all good,......and I hardly dare say this to one of the masters of Bird Photography, but, the head doesn't look sharp at all to me, the grey back feathers look to be where the best focus is.

Still sharper than my efforts though!!!

Thanks for looking Paul. The shot is actually pin sharp and focussed on the eye, at least the version on my computer is and also the image on photobucket here viewed full size (just click on the image), so I think it is another of those losing detail things between photobucket and the forum

Would also have to agree with Paul's critique. Can't see it any better in photobucket on my phone, so I'll have to wait till I get home.

the image that opens in photobucket is probably no better than here but if you then click on it, it will open at 100%

Where is the link to your photobucket image as clicking the image posted takes me nowhere?

if you look at the third post and click on the red word "here" that takes you to the photobucket image. click on that image and it opens full size

The link works fine for me but here it is again - heron
The page that opens shows the image at 65% - if you hover the mouse over it and left click it will display at 100%

Nice composition, and when I looked on photobucket it is sharp. Although the image on photobucket doesn't zoom.

I do have the odd problem with photobucket so will have to double check more closely for vany loss of quality a bit more often
