Snowy lockdown in Cumbria

Normally when it snows I'm the first out the door. Snowball fights, sledging, now angels and what not, however the national lockdown means I can really only go to my yard. So I took the camera anyway and attempted my first Ever snow white with my new 40d. The first one of the gate I'm very pleased with. I could be better but im happy either way.

I did struggle when it came to editing the snow shots I had, it's very difficult because there was no colour anywhere. Any advice going forward for shooting snow? I understand all about the cameras sensor reading 18% light so whites and greys can end up merging together but any advice and feedback would be grateful .

All good...a nice set.
snow is tricky....but you appear to have exposed properly ...not sure but I don’t think there is live view in the 40D? ...so if you achieved this be metering you did well.

Thank you very much :) there is a live view option on the 40d it's not it's main view mode if that makes sense. So I tend to not use it that often, I can't remember if I did on these ones or not.
