    From St Mawes to Pendennis

A two-shot pano taken during a week down in mixed-weather Cornwall.

The large vessel at the extreme RHS of the image is the "World" - the only residential cruise liner - currently without either inhabitants or crew and languishing in Falmouth harbour.

A fine image capturing a fine view

I know Falmouth well from all the years attending the Shanty Festival there but have only been to St. Mawes once. Then we had a weekend there but it's a bit too posh for my tastes - indeed, when I enquired at the tourist information office for B&Bs the sniffy man gave a vauge wave-of-the-hand gesture indicating a place outside his domain and said in a dismissive manner "well there may be something like THAT in the council houses on top of the hill!". He was right there was but it was excellent and probably the best we've stayed at (although the walk back from the pub up the 1:3 hill was taxing ).

The World is also out of action due, presumably by Covid? I wonder where all the multi-millionaires who bought their apartments aboard have gone? Probably to B&Bs in St. Mawes

                    Cheers,
                    John
