    The Vital Spark

This is a six image handheld panorama stitched in Lightroom.

She was built in 1944 by Browns of Hull, in 1968 she was sold out of Naval service at Devonport Dockyard. Since then the vessel went through a number of owners / names / roles around the West Coast of Scotland.

The Vital Spark is moored at Inveraray and currently owned by the Inveraray Maritime Museum, who purchased the vessel in 2001. In 2006 they renamed her "Vital Spark" after a fictional Clyde Puffer in the "Para Handy" books written by Neil Munro.
There was also a spin off TV series "The tales of Para Handy" the series was based on the books. I believe it may currently be up for sale, but don't quote me on that .

As always your thoughts and comments welcomed.

A cracking shot and the sky is great.

Never read the books but I remember watching the TV series when I was a lad...

Colour and placement of the boat are great but for me the sky really makes this image. Nice work.

Thanks for all your comments, I guess I was there at the right time and decided to make the effort to shoot a number of shots to create the Pano.
Usually when we're on the way to Islay we may not stop at Inveraray, on this trip we had company so it would have been rude not to stop. Oh did I mention the girls wanted to check out the shopping opportunities !

A cracking image Peter - and fond memories of Para Handy, Mr Macphail and Sunny Jim on the (Mono) telly.
