I lent my 11 year old grandson my Canon 100D and he was snapping away during a festive visit this afternoon. He managed this (rare) smiling unposed photo of my husband!

Occasionally at parties I've put a camera in the hands of children with the instruction to "go and take some photographs" (one ran off 96!). Some of the results have been quite good as people are more relaxed and less likely to be apprehensive and respond well which is the key to a good portrait. I'd say let him keep the 100D
