    Selfie eyes

I took this a couple of months ago with the intent of entering it into the Portrait Challenge, but did not get time to process it. Finally got around to doing it. Not to everyone's taste but I was aiming for a gritty and striking feel. Any thoughts welcomed, for example, the reflected window catchlight, is that too intrusive, or should I have edited it down?

Its not my scene, but I think you got some great detail Alex, especially the eyes. You can almost feel them watering.

Works for me, something a bit different...

Might be worth taking the catch-lights down a little although they are not too intrusive as they are.

Interesting treatment. I have to disagree about the catchlights, I would say they are exactly right for the image. Well done.

You look rather worried! Is that what you wanted?
          Catchlights are fine IMHO
I get the gritty and striking but the pores on your skin are very blackheady…. I find this rather distracting.
I love the fact that you’ve gone for something different in a selfie

The picture reminds me of the ones I see here in Wales of miners, taken back in the days of film.
