Hey everyone. A couple of week ago I took part in my first ever portrait session. I've always shyed away from portraits as it's not normally something I enjoy doing and I always feel uncomfortable taking pictures of people. However.....
It was a practical portrait session for my camera club and I helped arrange a model who is a very close friend of mine and we photographed him for 2 hours. The theme was Biker, Dan is a biker himself (as well as me) and is just full off character. I had an absolute blast doing this portrait session and the guy that ran it helped me massively, teaching me how to fill my frame better and shutter speeds etc. Now I can't take any credit for the lighting as it was already set up by Paul (a member who organised the session) but I did take the pictures. And I'm really pleased with the outcome for first attempt. I've got about 70 pictures still to trawl through so will add more as I get through them.
All were taken with the Canon 40d and a 50mm f1.8 mk3
Both are different images as I was trying to capture the smoke from the cigar.
More to follow
