Weston super Mare Carnival 2019

I had not been for a year or two and since Friday night promised to be dry (though cold) I decided to pop down to Weston for the Carnival. A terrific show as ever and hopefully lots of money raised for local charities (£22,700 in 2018).

Although one should expect the unexpected, I was not quite ready for the flames in this shot, so (rats!) missed the LH corner of the bumper and gained a bit of unwanted 'phone to the right.

It is also almost impossible to avoid people in the shots because the stewards (quite rightly) keep a very close watch on the carts.

Like those John, they are so bright it makes it so difficult to get the right exposure. Mind I haven’t been to Weston Carnival for 20 years

Brilliant John.

The local Blandford Carnival used to be really good, but it's gone downhill over the last few years. Very half hearted floats, so it's good to see the tradition to good effect at Weston.
